Two days ago I had the pleasure of attending a private screening of the documentary Thunder Soul, executively produced and heavily endorsed by Jamie Foxx. Please note that I am by no means a movie critic and this is not a movie review; however the prevailing themes throughout Thunder Soul truly project how one life can profoundly impact the lives of thousands. While sitting amidst the packed Charles Theater in Baltimore, Maryland hoping no one could see me patting my eyes dry, I reflected on the people that I know would benefit from seeing this film. For a second I drifted away and imagined how if they were present we would all be patting our eyes dry from the clear, bold, powerful messages that screamed from the new film Thunder Soul. This movie will touch the soul of all musicians, teachers, dreamers and anyone who uses their profession to shape and influence others.
This entry is a small plea for all of us to support art that inspires, cultivates, captures, and reminds us that whatever our heart desires to achieve, can be achieved. Thunder Soul is an example of how ones motive to impact lives can translate into actions that mirror ones motive. In other words, whatever goals you meditate on you will achieve. If your goal is to teach, learn, grow, build, create, and encourage more than likely you will succeed at teaching, learning, growing, building, creating and encouraging. Thunder Soul reminds us that leaving your legacy is so much more than what you physically did here; your legacy also encompasses how you made the people you touched feel. That is truly making an impact! Please support the new film Thunder Soul when it comes to theaters. Your soul needs it.
